Swimming in Lake Como

From Milan we took a day trip to Lake Como. We took a train to Varenna. At first I loved trains but then they hurt my ears when my ears got clogged. But I still like them. When I’m riding on trains I like to sit, relax, and talk with my mom and sometimes we do a crossword app together. After I read enough in my book then sometimes I am able to play on my iPad for 20 minutes.

After we got to Varenna, we caught a ferry to Bellagio and that took 15 minutes. After lunch (we had delicious doner kebab which is Turkish food and that might be my second favorite type of food, not yet beating Thai food), we walked and walked and walked until we finally found the beach where we could swim.  Lake Como was very cold when we first got in (because it was so hot outside) but then it felt warm once we were used to it which happened very quickly. My strategy for getting in was just sitting down and then when I got used to it that way I just swam off.

I love swimming, especially in Lake Como because fresh water is my favorite type of water. Salt water is my least favorite and chlorine is my second favorite. It was very fun swimming with my dad and mom in the fresh water. It got so deep that my dad couldn’t touch. I like everything about swimming except for the sharp rocks and how it sometimes gets up my nose.
