It has been such a blessing getting to see so many different places and encounter so many different people in these past four months. We’ve loved it all and appreciated it all but some places definitely stand out as being warmer and more welcoming than others. I had been to Hungary one other time, in 2014, with my good friend, Lorinda, and remembered it as not being the friendliest of places. We found this to be true again this year, apart from our new friend, Virág, owner of WaffaLab! WaffaLab is on Vaci Utca, a beautiful pedestrian shopping street in Central Budapest, a block or so down from the apartment where we were staying. Virág sells Liège waffles which are the most delicious waffles ever! In case you are not familiar with them, I explained their deliciousness in this post from when we were in Venice. We loved Virág’s waffles (we visited six times in five days!) and especially loved getting to know Virág and learn about her business. She invited us behind the counter and showed us her waffle-making processes, taught us about her equipment, and shared what and how she orders what she needs. It was a highlight of our time in Budapest!
Looks and sounds simply amazing!
Thanks Keira! 🙂
Your world tour is sounding more and more like the impetus for your future coffee/waffle shop in Redmond, WA! I’m sure the boys could come up with a great name for it and the shop specialties. (Love Keegan’s expression in the group shot!)
