Széchenyi Thermal Baths

Today was a day at the thermal baths. It was crazy fun! When we got there, we each got a wristband that let us into the world of thermal baths. From outside we could see three baths but inside a different building, there were fifteen baths! We started out in one of the outside baths which seemed like the most popular one probably because it had a lazy river. I loved it. It was actually quite fast and it looked really crowded but it wasn’t too bad. Inside the building, we walked around the whole thing and got in every hot bath! It was amazing. They were all different temperatures. Sometimes, we would go inside a little tub that we called ice baths because they were so cold. It was fun to try to go in there as fast as we could, dunk our heads in there, and then go back out. My favorite pool was the one outside with the lazy river. The river was quite strong and sometimes it was hard to get out. We liked to try to get out of it when we came around while another brother tried to keep us in it so that we would go around again. We also went into a sauna which is a room that is about 120 degrees Fahrenheit. You just sit there and sweat. It is actually really fun! There are two different types of saunas. One is a dry one and the other is a wet one. In the wet one, it just feels like there is wetness in the air while the other one is totally dry. We preferred the wet one to the dry one. We had lunch right next to the baths at a cafeteria and we got a sausage, some rice, and French fries. It wasn’t amazing but it was better than nothing. Afterwards, we got dessert at a really fancy café called the New York Café which is the most beautiful café in the world! It was so pretty and large! We waited for quite a bit because a lot of people had made reservations but we hadn’t, but then finally we got to sit down. We ordered an apple crumble pie, tiramisu, and a dish with hazelnut, chocolate, coffee, and vanilla ice cream. It was all really good but I think my favorite was the ice cream dish. I had a really fun day in Budapest.
