Visiting Budapest

After our time in Vienna, we enjoyed a few days in Budapest. We spent one afternoon visiting Fisherman’s Bastion, Matthias Church, and Ruszwurm Confectionery, all recommendations near one another from my good Hungarian-American friend from college, Mesi.

The Fisherman’s Bastion — built as a viewing terrace overlooking Budapest:

Ruszwurm Confectionery has been operating for 200 years and is family run. It was tight but we managed to find a small spot for the six of us.

Matthias Church, founded in 1015 by King Stephen
Matthias Church… I’d never seen a church decorated quite like this… The walls were all painted and they had so much detail.

The church was open while some musicians were practicing — it was so beautiful!
