Italy is so cool! The food here is amazing! I love the pizzas and pastas and especially the gelato. There are so many flavors to choose from!! There is chocolate, all sorts of sorbets, stratcciatella, cafè, hazelnut, pistachio, rice, honey walnut, and I even saw a horseradish lemon peel ginger!
When we were in Rome, we climbed the dome of St Peters as well as saw the Sistine Chapel where we could see Michelangelo’s paintings all over the ceiling and the walls. In the center of the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel, we saw the painting of God and Adam reaching out and touching fingers. It was so cool!
We started homeschooling in Rome. I really like it. We are learning about literature and history of the places we are visiting as well as doing math and language (and daily field trips 🙂 ). Because we are in Italy we are learning Italian. It is so fun! I have already learned a lot.
The cobblestone streets here are so pretty. There are two things I do not like about Italy. One is that there are smokers everywhere! 🤮 It is so disgusting!! The other is that there are people everywhere trying to sell us bracelets, flowers, and water. They’re always so pushy! One time during dinner a woman gave us six bracelets for free?! That never happens. She walked a few feet away and sold something to someone else. Then, right away she came over to us again and asked for money for her baby. We said no so she solemnly told us to give the bracelets back!!! Even though people can be very pushy that won’t stop me from loving Italy! Ciao!
Great insights into the culture there. Thank you for sharing. The list of gelato flavours is making my mouth water just thinking about it – that was one of my favorite things about Italy as well!
