Dinner with Salman

We spent about three months camped out in Edinburgh during the worst of COVID, and stayed in a wonderful terraced house in Stockbridge. The owner, Salman, and his family live in Geneva, where he works for the United Nations. Salman was always so friendly to communicate with during our stay and he invited us to join him in having dinner at his house if we wound up going through Geneva. We were excited to make this work and enjoyed a great evening with him and his son, Louis (his wife and daughter were out of town)! He made us delicious grilled chicken and vegetable tacos and it was so nice to have a home-cooked meal and eat and talk with the owner of our favorite accommodation of the trip! Thank you Salman!

Since we only stayed in Geneva for one night there wasn’t much time for sightseeing, but we managed to fit in a bit the next morning. One of the the coolest sights was the Jet d’Eau, or Water Jet in English. It was a huge fountain-like thing in the bay that shot water up 460 ft! Keegan wondered what would happen if he put his water bottle on it. We didn’t get to test that. Up next, France!
