a few days in Bruges

I had visited Bruges briefly once before with Anya in 2004 and remembered loving it, so I was very excited to come back here! It’s a really cute city with beautiful buildings and canals that create a quaint atmosphere. We were only there for three nights, but that was enough time to see some of the most interesting sights, down some liege waffles, and feast on fine Belgian chocolates. When we first showed up on a Thursday and walked around a little, the city seemed mostly emptied out, but on Saturday, which was our day set apart for sightseeing, the city center really came alive!

our first night we ate at this restaurant that only serves spaghetti–it was very tasty!
this is our 9-seater beast that we’re driving around Europe for 8 weeks, an Opel Vivaro. It can be so hard to find a place to park it!

I caught this picture of Tate practically drooling in front of the waffle-maker. By the way, I think Chez Albert may have the best waffles in Bruges–so good!
