Visiting Koh Phi Phi

Koh Phi Phi (pronounced “Koh-Pee-Pee”) is a group of islands off the coast of Krabi (Koh means island). We travelled there by ferry and stayed there for about four hours. The ferry ride was about two hours each way and both ways there was the same R-rated karate movie playing on repeat. It was not kid-friendly! We got pad thai for lunch then we went by longboat to a really cool beach called Monkey Beach. The water was so clear and the sand was beautiful–it was incredibly fine and white. There were also monkeys there! They didn’t seem as aggressive as the Tanzanian monkeys but they did fight each other for food a little bit. Koh Phi Phi was so cool and I hope I can see it again.

the monkeys were very comfortable with people!
the ferry that brought us back… we stopped in the middle of the water and were transferred to longboats to go the rest of the way to shore. We’re often not really sure of what is going on and don’t necessarily receive any communication… So we do our best by watching others and hoping we make it to where we are supposed to go. So far so good!
