Sadly, our five weeks in Thailand have come to an end. We ended our stay in Thailand with a stop in Chiang Khong, to be ready for a pick up the next morning to head into Laos. We stayed in a hotel with an infinity pool overlooking the river as well as a pool table. Both were really fun! There were only 14 restaurants in Chiang Khong, so for our last night in Thailand, we ate at the restaurant with the best reviews on TripAdvisor, which was Mexican food! When we got there, two older people were opening the restaurant. They had a really cute dog who was named Ninja. After we ordered, we talked for quite a while because it took a really long time for the food to come. We learned that the reason it took so long was because the woman we saw opening the restaurant was the only one cooking. She said that her daughter was usually there to help but she was out of town, her husband was sick, and the other staff didn’t come. So she was cooking there all by herself! She said she was really nervous back there 😄. She was really sweet and kind. The food wasn’t delicious, but it was okay knowing that she was the only one cooking back there. At the end of the meal, we went took some plates back into the kitchen to help her. After we waved goodbye, we went back home to go to sleep to be ready to go to Laos!
