the edge of Eurasia

When we left Lisbon to continue our southward Portuguese journey, we first drove 25 miles west to visit Cabo da Roca, which is a beautiful point along the coast that has the distinction of being the westernmost point of continental Europe. It was a pretty quick stop, so there’s not much to say about it, but we enjoyed the views, and best of all we met some really nice Belgians that we got to chat with for a while. We also confirmed once and for all that you cannot see the United States from continental Europe, no matter how hard you squint.
