Swimming, eating, and hiking in Nha Trang

In Nha Trang, we stayed at a hotel that I really liked because it had a swimming pool on the roof and a Chinese board game called xiangqi. We had two rooms which were on different floors, one of them for Dad and me and a four-person one for Keegan, Mom, Findlay, and William. Sadly, halfway through our time there, dad had a fever and got sick, so I moved in with Keegan, Findlay, William, and Mom so that hopefully I wouldn’t catch it (I didn’t!). Before dad got sick, he took Findlay, Keegan, and me to the beach where we dipped our feet the water and got a little bit wet. We didn’t swim in the ocean because the waves were too big. We swam a lot in the hotel pool instead. The water was freezing and it was very windy on the top floor, but I really enjoyed it. One interesting thing about Nha Trang is that there are so so so many Russians there. Probably about 99% of the tourists are Russians.

One day, we took a hike to Long Son Pagoda, also known as Chua Long Son which was a temple famous for it’s enormous Buddha statue at the top of the hill. We noticed something very weird on our way up to it and it was that there was a huge swastika standing on a pole! We looked it up later and learned later that the Hindu people were actually the first people who created that sign. Two things that it represents in Hinduism are luck and prosperity.

time for hot chocolate! We got to go with my mom to coffee in the morning when my dad was sick
