Sliding & Splashing near Lagos

After our stay in Lisbon, we travelled further south and stayed in Lagos, a town in the Algarve, the southernmost region of Portugal. While we were there, Mom and Dad surprised us by telling us that we were going to a place called Slide & Splash, a huge water park. It was so fun!! There were so many waterslides! My favorites were the foam slide and one called The Banzai. The foam slide is like those big dry slides at fairs that one rides down on in a carpet, but this one is wet, there is no carpet, and it’s all foam so you go faster. The Banzai was a really long, steep, straight wet slide that we rode down on our stomachs, head first, and on a flat foam rectangle. At the bottom there is a long strip of water and you skid really far riding on the foam board. The whole day was so fun and none of us got sunburned (we had to keep applying sunscreen–it was so hot!)!

The day after we visited Slide & Splash, we walked to a viewpoint called Ponta da Piedade to see some interesting rock formations and the beautiful water!

this is the foam slide…we must’ve gone down it about 15-20 times!

video of a guy we saw on the foam slide a few times who could skid all the way to the stairs on top of the water…it was amazing!
