Singapore’s Gardens by the Bay

Singapore is very cool! All of the architecture is amazing!! While we were there we went to the Gardens by the Bay. It was super pretty! We walked around there for a bit and we saw solar powered “supertrees”. They collect rainwater and some of them convert sunlight into energy. We got to walk on a bridge right under the “branches” of the trees. We also got to see the Merlion. It is a mermaid from the chest down and a lion head. Its name combines “mer”, meaning the sea, and “lion”. The fish body represents Singapore’s origin as a fishing village, and the lion head represents Singapore’s original name, Singapura, which means “lion city” in Malay.
