As we jumped in our car after leaving the sixth and final monastery in Meteora, we were still processing the stunning sights we had just witnessed. I turned the wheel to get on the winding road that leads back down to town and immediately could tell something wasn’t right. And then a bunch of people were frantically waving at us and my first thought was, “Oh, do you recognize us from our blog?” But alas, they were just trying to tell me that we had a very flat tire.
I pulled off the road as soon as it was safe to do so and decided to make the best of the situation by using it as an opportunity to show the boys how to change a tire. I mean, really, how often do you get a chance to do that? Especially on the cliffs of Meteora? Thankfully, we were able to locate the spare and all the necessary tools, so I didn’t have to call for help. Everybody pitched in and instead of it ruining our afternoon, it turned into a fun memory!
very cool. I told William that Greece is my absolute, unparalleled, untouchable favorite country in the world (outside the US) and the only country I would ever want to live for an extended period in. Santorini is the most beautiful place in the world and Greece has the absolute best food in the world.
