Layover in Dubai

On our way to Africa, we had a 7-hour layover in Dubai, a very hot and architecturally busy city. I saw some amazing buildings, including the only 7 star hotel in the world (Burj al Arab), and the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world. Surprisingly, the Burj Khalifa was really tall. šŸ™‚ Outside it was 111 degrees F, so we spent a lot of time in the Dubai Mall, the largest mall in the world. It was huge, and seemed to keep on going almost forever. In the mall I had the best breakfast of the trip at Cafe Bateel…a croissant, pancakes, and French toast with caramel sauce and syrup. Yum! Sadly, Dad and Findlay had a different flight and a layover in Ethiopia (made use of some air miles). Dubai wouldnā€™t be a place where I would want to stay for more than a couple days, but I am very glad that I got to experience it.
