English Christmas

Hello people! Over Christmas break, we went to England to spend time with my Grandad and his wife, Zorka. While we were there, we did some really fun things. They ordered three Christmas trees for us to decorate and even bought a grand piano for us to play!

While we were there, we ate out for dinner at two different spots. One was a Brazilian all-you-can-eat meat restaurant, where we had amazing meats. The other was what you would call fine dining. In the beginning they even took our coats! We had some really good food there, including a dish with ‘hidden’  snails.

Grandad and Zorka loved hearing us play the piano. When friends and family came over, they asked us each to play our pieces, and Grandad led the clapping! One of the many funny things about Grandad was, when the people heard us play, they said to him, “You must be so proud!” When they said that, he raised his hands (in an “I surrender!” sort of way), and said, “No, no, I’m not proud. Pride is one of the seven deadly sins.”

One of the things I loved about England was how it was so relaxing. Every morning I would wake up at 8:00, get ready, and have cereal and tea for breakfast. The biggest decision I had to make all day was whether or not to go on a walk with my mom and dad. There was also this rope swing outside that I would go on a lot, and I figured out strategies for going really high.

England was super fun and relaxing and I loved spending time with my grandad and Zorka. I hope I can go see them again soon!
