Just as a fun way to get out of Mostar, we drove to Blagaj (pronounced “Blag-eye”), a town near Mostar, and saw a Muslim monastery called the Dervish House. It was in a super pretty location with a river and waterfall which ran through the middle of the grounds. On one side of the river was the worship area and on the other side was a restaurant. We walked around a bit, admiring the green hills and blue water, and then drove back to Mostar.

Thank you for sharing the Dervish house, where is now a Muslim monastery. I’m so curious about the history…How old is that house and when is the house built? When it is built, is it established for the Muslims to worship or for other purposes? What is the predominant religion in Bosnia? Is Islam part of the major religions in Bosnia? I know…. I have so many questions!!
