When we were in Rovinj (that’s in Croatia), we went to a church and there were really scary wooden steps that we climbed up for a pretty long time before we got to a really scary creaking ladder. Then we went up the ladder and we had an amazing breeze and amazing view. It was so fun being up there. (Pictures in Tate’s post from yesterday.)
Hi Keegan! I love to see your big smile! Thank you for writing about the funny sign. I wonder what the sign really means… Does that mean “this is the area where children play?” Or does that mean this area allows children to run around freely?” Different signs can mean differently from one culture to another. I wonder if your Dad’s interpretation about that sign is correct or does he just joke about it?!
BTW, I am really curious about the scary wooden steps and the scary ladder mentioned in the beginning of your article. What do they look like? Did you take pictures of them? What do you mean they are scary? Are you old and not stable so that got you scared that you might fall off from the steps? Sorry that I asked so many questions because I am just so curious!
Hi Mrs Ruan! My dad was joking about it… We read that it is telling drivers that kids are playing so to be careful!
Those scary wooden steps were sturdy but there gaps between them which made it really scary because we were getting pretty high!! We put pictures in Tate’s post that is called “Walking and Swimming in Croatia”. You can see the big gaps!
That tower is amazing, Keegan! I bet it was something special to climb to the top of a building that’s probably older than our whole country.
Thanks Dr Calvery! It was really amazing up there to be at the top with the space to look around. It was really pretty and the breeze was nice and it was beautiful seeing the sea from up high!
