one of our favorite moments of the trip was walking back from dinner our last night in Manuel Antonio and seeing this sloth hanging from a power line beneath the only street light around, as if it was performing in a spotlight–we watched its slow slothy movements for about 20 minutes
with our Costa Rican driver, Rolando, who was so great! In all our travels, he was maybe the friendliest and most fun driver we’ve had. If we go back to Costa Rica, we’re definitely tracking down Rolando again.

we had one night in San Jose and found this delicious restaurant that served Vietnamese Banh Mi (sandwiches) and Bun Bo (beef bowls)
