One day when we were in Singapore, we went to both Sentosa (an island resort off the coast of Singapore that has a lot of fun activities–we had planned to ride the luge) and the Singapore Botanic Gardens to see tons of pretty flowers. It was extremely hot walking around in the flower gardens, but it was also very pretty. The flowers were a huge variety of colors including violet, orange, green, yellow, red, and blue. After seeing the flowers and eating some ice cream, we called a Grab car and went to Sentosa where the luge was. The sky was very cloudy (but it was still CRAZY hot) and the weather forecast said it was going to rain, so we went to a coffee shop to wait there for a bit. Sadly, if it did rain, we would have to wait it out until the luge dried a little bit. It hadn’t started raining yet after a few minutes so we went over to luge and looked at how to buy tickets. We had just figured it out and they told us there were no refunds, and then it started to pour! We held off on buying tickets just in case the rain didn’t slow down in time for us to ride the luge before it closed, but thankfully it rained (poured!) for about an hour and then we were able to ride. We took the lift to the top and then luged our way down the path! The controls were very easy to work, but the seats were very wet. I wound up getting a store prize (a treat from the store) for sitting in a puddle of water on the seat (so that my mom wouldn’t have to), and the track was very fun! We went up the lift four times and down four different tracks, so we were able to try out each of the tracks. We spent about 90 minutes luging! It was super fun and we all had a great time. Toodles!

What a fun and hot day you guys had in SG! It is very typical to experience thunder shower there and people just get used to it. Botanic Gardens of SG is recognized as one of UNESCO world heritage sites. Very cool. The Orchid Garden is one of our family’s favorite and we visit it every time when we are back to SG.
It was really beautiful! I had no idea there were so many types of orchids!!
The rain was pretty impressive…it’s not often we see it downpour like that!

Great pictures! I did some research on Singapore’s educational system when I was working on my masters. From what I remember, it was suppose to be pretty good. What a great education you all are getting!
