We arrived in Hoi An and my dad was still sick, so we wound up getting together for dinner with our friends, the Browns, who we met in Luang Prabang, Laos, and decided to go on a bike ride with them to Cam Kim Island the next day! Sadly, my dad was still sick that day. Riding bikes has been one of my favorite things we have done in Hoi An! It is so pretty here and it is fun to see the countryside and rice fields while biking! We rode around for a while and then stopped at a cafe. We had a lot of fun interacting with the owner of the cafe even though he did not speak English and we do not speak Vietnamese. He was really nice.
It was tricky riding on the roads. We had to ride really straight and towards the side of the road because the motorbikes got close and the roads were sometimes narrow.
We loved our time biking with the Browns and wound up renting bikes two more times!
I have never tried to bike in Ho An when I visited there. You guys are so brave to navigate your way while the motorbikes are so close to you.
Thank you Mrs Ruan!
That looks like a wonderful day trip! It’s neat that you got to see the water buffalo and the rice fields. I’ve always wondered about those round boats – did it feel like a canoe?
It was very fun! Keegan said the boat felt tippier than a canoe!
