For our last Sunday in Chiang Mai, we visited a church that meets at a zoo, called Safari Church. After the service, we had a chance to roam around the grounds that were still pretty empty. They had some pretty exotic animals! It was a little sad seeing some of the same animals locked in small cages that we’d seen running free on the African plains a few months ago, but as far as zoos go, we had a memorable experience.
Wow! I have never heard of it…the church meeting in a zoo?! My children would love to go there for church every week!
Yes! It was a pretty big community and seemed like they had rotating pastors from other churches who did the preaching. The day we were there a Dutchman gave the sermon. The zoo was definitely a great bonus!
Really? A Dutch preacher? So I guess that sounds like an international church too. How cool is that!
Hi its Beth.Did you really go to church at a zoo?I want to go there now.
We did! The tiger gave a great message and the flamingo choir gave a thrilling rendition of Be Thou My Vision. The rhino objected to a point in the sermon and stormed out. It was pretty wild.
=)Ha Ha!!!!!
