We took a tour of the Peloponnese which is a peninsula in southern Greece. We had a driver who picked us up at 8 AM and first drove us to the Corinth Canal. It was really cool! The Corinth Canal was started in 1882 and completed in 1893 by 6,000 prisoners of war that were mostly Jewish. We learned that a motorcyclist was sponsored by Red Bull to jump across the width of the canal! Then we went to the Ancient Corinthos ruins where Paul was tried. That was really cool! After that we went to Epidaurus theatre and got shushed by a grouchy tour guide when we were being ”too loud” while rapping in German at the place where they say to perform creatively. On the long drive to Ancient Olympia, we stopped for gelato (for the brothers) and coffee (for the parents) in Nafplion and looked around the town which was really nice. When we finally arrived in Ancient Olympia we had some delicious gyros and then went to bed.
I’m just imagining you rapping in the theatre while someone shushes you. Good work for doing it anyway! Those pictures from Mycenae are glorious. I enjoy seeing these pictures and stories of the historical places I’ve read about.
