On our way to Africa, we had a 7-hour layover in Dubai, a very hot and architecturally busy city. I saw some amazing buildings, including the only 7 star hotel in the world (Burj al Arab), and the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world. Surprisingly, the Burj Khalifa was really tall. š Outside it was 111 degrees F, so we spent a lot of time in the Dubai Mall, the largest mall in the world. It was huge, and seemed to keep on going almost forever. In the mall I had the best breakfast of the trip at Cafe Bateel…a croissant, pancakes, and French toast with caramel sauce and syrup. Yum! Sadly, Dad and Findlay had a different flight and a layover in Ethiopia (made use of some air miles). Dubai wouldnāt be a place where I would want to stay for more than a couple days, but I am very glad that I got to experience it.
Iām sorry, but the Burj Khalifi looks fake…pretty sure thatās a green screen…
Anya, Sorry it was such a fiasco. Glad you went, now I don’t need to go… = )
Haha – yes! Took one for the team š
Call me crazy…I believe you missed an opportunity in Dubai! I was positive you all would ride in an AC vehicle to the desert and then hop on a stinky/sweaty Camel to experience the rolling dunes. š Oh Anya, here is a giggle for you. When I tapped on Dubai adventures on your site I was imagining Camels and decorative tents. Oddly reading your best breakfast being Pancakes/Waffles with CAMEL sauce not caramel sauce. ;0 š hehehehehe -your buddy AF
CAMEL sauce!! haha! gross!
