For those who don’t know German, schlauchanschluss means ‘hose connection’, and apparently it’s really hard to say without laughing. The first thing we did in Vienna was to record Tate slowly sounding this word out (his request, of course). It took lots of attempts to get through the giggles, but he emerged victorious!
I had always known that my parents loved the coffee in Vienna, but I had no idea how good it really was! It definitely turned into a highlight of the whole trip. One of the first things I would think about when I woke up was when we were going to get coffee at Fenster or Kaffemik—our two favorites. It was that good! We got to enjoy all of our Vienna adventures with our friends, the Grubers! We all really looked forward to that—it’s always so fun to see friends outside the US. We had both been to Vienna before, so we didn’t really take any tours or go to any museums, but we had a lot of fun walking around the city, getting coffee and food, and going for boiling hot runs. Something we did, though, that we also did last time, was go to Prater, an amusement park. We did the Ferris wheel and the giant swings, then Keegan and Eli jumped on some trampolines together.
One of our favorite parts (especially mine and Tate’s) was acknowledging the fact that we were in Vienna with Vienna. We even listened to Vienna by Billy Joel with Vienna in Vienna. THAT was crazy. By this point, it was crazy that our trip was pretty close to being over, but it was a super fun stop before heading to our final stay, Dublin.
