In Vienna, Austria, we saw my good friend Eli and his family!
Arriving in Vienna from Corfu was a bit of a shock, going from sunny, 105 degrees, sweating while standing still, swimming every day, to still sunny but 95 degrees, a large city, hanging out with our friends, and not eating gyros every day!
It was so fun to hang out with Eli’s family, and we did many different things! We walked around, we got morning and afternoon coffee (according to my family and some sips that I had, Viennese coffee is amazing!), we went to an amusement park, we got some chocolate (the chocolate is also very good!), and we rode the underground metro a lot! The best coffee was a little more than 2 miles away, so we made the walk most of the time but sometimes we rode the metro back.
We spent a good chunk of our time in a city square that had tons of cool shops and a massive Gothic cathedral! In that square we got chocolate from Läderach and Lindt, and we looked inside the cathedral, and mostly we just walked around looking at everything!
We also went to the same amusement park as last time we were here, which was super cool! Last time we were here, I was 7 years old and absolutely terrified of the swings ride. So, for old time’s sake, we rode the metro to the park and went on the swings! It was not as terrifying as I remember it, but it was great to go on the ride that I was so afraid of 6 years ago!
It was so fun to be in Vienna with Eli and his parents and his sister (named Vienna), and it was a very drastic change going from Corfu to Vienna! It was also great to go on the same ride that I went on before, and it’s crazy to think that I’m almost twice as old as I was last time we went here. I would love to come here again when I’m 26!
