Poor Keegan’s tongue bump has continued to be an issue… We thought it had resolved in late June, but it has come and gone a few more times. The most recent bump has been persistent and not gone away now for about two months (and has grown quite a bit in the last couple weeks). We’ve been in touch with our dermatologist at home and, more recently by FaceTime, our oral surgeon friend, Jerald, who gave us really helpful, definitive, and concrete information (a diagnosis) and instructions: have it surgically removed and biopsied. This was actually pretty relieving to hear because it means there is an end in sight! We’ve done research and found a surgeon in Belgrade, where we will land tomorrow night (Thursday the 24th), who appears to have excellent credentials and experience — and on top of that he speaks English really well! AND, he is willing to do it AND has availability!
Initially, it sounded like Keegan would need general anesthesia, but as of now the doctor has decided that local will be a good choice. We are grateful for that and would love prayer for peace of mind for Keegan (and us), wisdom for the surgeon as he performs the procedure, and that it would be fully resolved.
His surgery is this Friday (the 25th) at 12p.m. (3a.m. PST). Thank you for your continued connections, encouragement, and prayers!!
