The terrain of Portugal and Spain is totally different from what we’ve seen elsewhere; it’s like a prettier version of Eastern Washington – arid and kind of barren, but with an interesting landscape. We did the Paiva Walkways hike and got to see this landscape from a more remote perspective than seeing it on the highway. The type of beauty is very different from other places in the world, as I outlined above, but I still marveled at it. The whole walk followed the curve of a river and later in the hike I swam in it with Tate and Keegan. Getting my clothes sopping wet was totally worth it. Keegan amazed us all at the beginning of the hike by skipping a rock across the river with something probably around 20-25 skips. Then he did it again, with the same result. Tate and Findlay also got some good ones, but Keegan impressed us the most. I would rather not say how I did…!
