Six tiring climbs

When we were at Meteora, we arrived at a little house where there was a couple who owned the house and they gave us some amazing apple cake, juice, water, fruit, bread, and meat and cheese. It was all amazing. The next morning, they brought us some spanakopita (a Greek traditional dish with spinach and cheese) and then they day after that, they made us moussaka for dinner. It was delicious! Moussaka is another traditional dish that has potato and ground beef and is really yummy. They were really really nice! It felt like we were visiting family because they were so nice.

Meteora was really fun. We went to all six monasteries. The first two days we did a ton of walking and climbing because the monasteries were on cliffs and we had to hike up the whole cliffs which were super high. It made me very tired. The third day we went to the monasteries by car because the walking would’ve been on streets and not as safe. But we still had a lot of climbing. One of my favorite parts about visiting the monasteries was seeing the monastery cats! We made such good friends with a couple of them that we let them crawl on our laps. They were super soft and cuddly.

this is a picture of us with the nice couple that owned the house where we stayed

The pictures below are of me getting to use my mom’s camera! I took the two pictures on the right!

Here is us climbing and Tate and me lying down on the rock to rest. We think this is where the monks might sleep.

here is a picture of one of the monasteries from another monastery

This is me sitting on Tate’s legs and also Tate sitting on my legs while we are resting on a bench.

This is a really pretty view from one of the monasteries
here is a picture of the pulley system… that’s how the monks got things up to the monasteries
Here I am on a trail sitting on some rocks… There are tortoises and vipers but we never saw any. Just in case, I had a stick ready to knock out viper teeth so it couldn’t bite us.
