We spent two weeks in England, where Grandad and Zorka hosted us in their abode, and we took many day trips, ate many meals, and drank many bottles of sparkling elderflower. William, Findlay, Keegan and I tried archery (a couple of us for the first time), which was very fun, especially once I got the hang of it. We went bowling at Bury Bowl, a classic, played frisbee and timber toss outside, ran, went for a few walks, had LOTS of yummy foods and desserts, and took trips out of town. We went to Imperial War Museum Duxford, a plane museum with WWII and other military planes, American planes, and tanks, visited Aldeburgh and Southwold where we saw the North Sea and ate fish and chips, and drove to Bedford to see Zorka’s family: Alex (Zorka’s brother), Spomanka (his wife), Yelena and Luka (their children), and Zorka’s mom. They also came to see us in Langham, which was a hoot. We ate burgers with them, taught Luka and Yelena how to play timber toss, and played frisbee. William, Findlay and I ran with Grandad and Zorka’s/our friend Karen for 9.5 miles, which was supposed to just be 7, but we took a different route due to flooded roads, so ended up having a pretty long run! We ate lots of Cadbury chocolate and drank lots of elderflower, rose elderflower, ginger beer, and cucumber and mint drinks. Luckily, I got to work it off almost every day in England after my runs, working out in Zorka’s workout room. I also did lots and lots of push-ups, averaging about 415 a day in July and finishing with 26,000 for the summer. Our stay in England was very relaxing, fun, full of activities, and a great time with Grandad and Zorka!!
