Cesky Krumlov was so picturesque everywhere we looked; I kept thinking that it felt like we were in a fairytale or walking around a painting. We didn’t have much of an agenda while there; it was nice to have time just to wander around.
We asked a sweet older tourist if she would mind taking a picture of us and she excitedly pulled out her own camera. Michael went to hand her his phone and she was a confused for a second and then when she understood, she called a younger woman over (daughter, maybe?) who took Michael’s phone and got a couple pictures of us. When she was finished, the older lady handed the younger lady her own phone and got in our grouping. The younger one told us that the older one wanted a picture with us! After that, we realized that she had actually thought our original request was that she take a picture of us with her own phone (and she would’ve happily been willing to do so!)! These language miscommunications are very amusing. We wish we had also gotten one of the pictures of all seven of us!
The owner of the place we stayed in had a Vizsla named Ida, which Findlay (and his brothers) were so excited to play with…
Hi Anya! So happy to read your writing! Love those pictures as I have never heard of this town. Hotel Dvorak, the background in one picture where Michael held coffees… Hmmm, is the hotel associated with the greatest Czech composer, Antonin Dvorak? Well, the hotel may have nothing to do with the composer at all. Drovrak’s music has made Czech so proud because he is the one of the first to achieve worldwide recognition!
Thanks Ching-Ching! 🙂
We came across quite a few things named after Dvorak — I assumed they were all named after the composer (not knowing if it is also just a common name?)!
It is so beautiful it’s hard to believe it’s real! But then there’s the bad coffee, so I guess that brings you back to reality. 😜
Hi Julann!
Haha!! Exactly! 🙂
