While we were in Krakow, Michael and William/I took turns doing day trips to Auschwitz-Birkenau + Schindler’s Factory. We wanted William to visit the concentration camps but knew Findlay, Tate, and Keegan weren’t old enough, so we took turns staying behind with them. We are each glad we went but all have such a hard time understanding the depth of mankind’s depravity.
Here are a few pictures (all in black & white…William and I agreed that the beautiful red brick and vibrant green of the grass and trees didn’t seem to make sense with the stories we were hearing). I’m leaving out the specifics about what we learned since some young friends (as well as our own young children) keep up with our blog. It was definitely an awful, awful place.
That looks like like a very sad place.đ„ it doesnât look like like a place I could enjoy.
Chilling pictures… hard to imagine…
I agree đ
