Norway in a Nutshell

One of our days in Norway was a day trip going around a part of Norway. The landscape was beautiful, and we saw Fjords, waterfalls, mountains, cosy little towns, and singing mountain lady spirits!

We left early in the morning, and went to take a short 40 minute train ride. After that, we got on a bus for a short ride, and then we got on a ferry! The ferry was 2 hours of beautiful waterfalls, giant mountains, cozy little towns, wind 💨, and a little bit of candy that was super good!

After that, we got to the final destination, and so then we took 2 trains to get back. There was a stop on one of the trains to take pictures, and a little bit before the stop, we read an informational plaque. It said that there was a mysterious spirit in the mountains that sang to people, trying to lure them in. There they would then stay, in the mountain, never to be seen again.

So, when we came to a stop at a picture spot, we were in front of some cliffs that were above a massive waterfall. Suddenly, there was a voice, and we saw a lady dressed in red singing on the cliff. I did not go to the mountain never to be seen again, but it was an interesting and funny experience!

After hundreds of pictures and hours of traveling surrounded by beautiful landscape, we arrived back at our place. It was so fun to see all of the cliffs, mountains, waterfalls and towns, and it was all so pretty! I hope I can do this again someday.

Just before getting on the ferry in Gudvangen

After the ferry, we ate at this great smash burger place in Flam called The Garden. Most of us had something called the Oklahoma Onion Smash Burger and it was really good!

After leaving Flam on the train to Myrdal, this was the waterfall, called Kjosfossen, where we stopped and saw the mysterious lady-in-red dancing from afar

Myrdal, waiting for our final train back to Bergen after an amazing day
