Findlay’s first day in Iceland – 24 June

Gulfoss

We are in Iceland today.  Yesterday we got off the cruise, went to a laundromat to wash our clothes, and then got on the plane.  I was sad to leave the cruise life.  I always like going to the airport and going through security, getting our boarding passes and going to our gates so I enjoyed that.  It was quick!  We flew to New York and had a 3 hour layover there and then a 5 hour overnight flight to Iceland.  I do not like getting rental cars or checking into hotels, and it took us a while to get the RV and sign all the paperwork.  The meeting point was Costco.  I was very excited about meeting my friend Gavin Tardif and his family.  We also met our other friends Mr Cox and the Barretts.  We stood in the Costco parking lot to wait for them and Gavin and I took a soccer ball out to play with.  Later in the day we went to a huge waterfall called Gulfoss and I took lots of pictures.  The geysers in Iceland are crazy!  There was a big one that erupted every 3-5 minutes.  Gavin and I got downwind from the geyser so it erupted and then the mist drifted towards us and it was like very warm rain!  My favorite part of the day was Gulfoss.  I love Iceland!
